The Great Aussie Shop Hop

Reach hundreds, maybe thousands of quilters, sewers and stitchers by joining our ‘Gidday Quilters’ Great Aussie Shop Hop. For one small fee you will join forces to combine your massive marketing power worth ten times the investment.

Who can participate?

The Program is open to Australian only Independent quilt shops or sewing stores, Online quilt or sewing-related businesses, or designers retailing original copyrighted work or products.

What will it cost?

To participate in the program the fee is $200 plus $50 worth of gift certificates in $10 increments. You can utilise this opportunity further by offering special sales and products to participants during the period of the program. Don’t forget to invite visitors to subscribe to your
e-newsletter so you can build your
mailing list.

Banner or side bar advertising on the website is also available, ask for details.

How does it work?

Just add the ‘roo’ logo somewhere on your site. For the 3 months of the program, visitors will explore your site as they search for the ‘roo’ to qualify for randomly drawn prizes or to purchase the block project offered.

Hundreds of quilters and sewers will visit your site, sign up for your mailing list, go shopping or bookmark your site to revisit later.

More details

Each store must have a fully functional website, blog (with purchase buttons) or webpage viewable in all browsers and have the ability to incorporate the Gidday Quilters logo and download code into its pages. Note that this is a 'virtual' online only shop hop.

Participants register and join with the free purchase of a passport from www.giddayquilters.com.au

The inaugural Program will run for a three month period – February to April 2011. Participants need to visit each store and find the hidden ‘Patch de-Roo’, and click on it to automatically register their find.

Stores will be listed in alphabetical order on the main site.

Stores will be allocated a date for an advertised sale or special to be highlighted on the main site.

One downloadable block pattern will be allocated to each participating store. You may wish to offer fabric kits with these patterns and any other addon sales. Fabrics used will be based on a colourway, not a range and the closest possible to originals should be used or offer a full kit in your own colourway. Note that after the completion of the program all patterns will be available in hard copy version for your stores to sell as a normal BOM.

Pattern downloads will be handled automatically by Gidday Quilters and any patterns sold through the link on your site will result in a credit with Pattern Press for your store. Note: you do not have to handle any sales of these patterns – it will be an automatic process and at the end of the promotion you will be advised of your Pattern Press credit for the retail markup of these sales less processing fees.

Customers do not have to make a purchase to complete their passport; however will be eligible for extra prizes if they do so.

Store websites must be fully ready to go 30 days before launch of program. More information can be added after this time but failure to be ready will mean your listing is removed from the site and your payment is forfeited.

It is the stores responsibility to have their special deal or sale details on their site two days before their allocated dates.

It is the stores responsibility to arrange the coding and graphics to be added to their website successfully by the due date. Christine Abela of Gecko Gully is designing the main site and is available to other stores to assist with new websites. If you are a current Gecko Gully website she is available for assistance with your coding.
